Face Wash Ceremony : A Joyful & Hilarious Event
Face Wash Ceremony : Filled with laughter and enjoyment for both the participants and the onlookers. The mothers of the bride and groom, along with their relatives, are seated in chairs as the festivities begin. Playfully, someone holds a toothpaste tube and brush and walks in front of them, pretending to brush the back of the brush. Similarly, someone combs the back of a mirror with the comb facing the opposite direction, teasing the people sitting in the chairs.
Various playful items such as garlands made of marbles, vegetables, chocolate paper, crowns, garlands, bows, caps, and golden paper garlands are used during the ceremony.
Face Wash Ceremony & Unique Activities
Unique activities include making a saree out of biscuits, cutting a cucumber in a square shape, pouring oil into a lemon shell, placing it inside the cucumber, and holding the cucumber peel with the right hand while performing aarti (ritual of waving lighted lamp) with the left hand. Alternatively, a potato is hollowed out, oil is poured on it, a wick is placed, and aarti is offered with the left hand. Participants also use a plate and a spoon to create sound effects by striking the plate.
Delicious treats such as laddu, Rice cakes, appadas, vadias, and minapapindi mudda are provided, along with a yellow saffron tambulam. Souvenirs are given to all those who attend this ceremony, serving as a memorable keepsake. Both the groom’s and bride’s families participate in these joyful activities.
On the day of the wedding, after washing themselves, the families gather at the wedding venue to continue the celebrations. This ceremony brings both sides together, sitting face-to-face, and indulging in joyous moments.
