Sikha : A Significant & Sacred Ritual
Sikha : Also Known as the Head During the ceremonial hair removal ritual, it is customary to place on the head.
As per their family tradition, they maintain three or five Hairstyles, depending on their lineage.
Those belonging to the Vashishtha gotra have a single positioned in the middle of the head.
On the other hand, individuals from the Atri and Kasyapa gotras have two crests, with one on each side of the head.
As for those from the Bhrigu gotra, they do not traditionally have original Sikhas.
According to the principles of science, individuals belonging to the Angiras gotra are encouraged to keep five hairstyles

However, it is worth noting that in present times, it is more common for individuals to maintain only one, irrespective of their lineage or gotra.
