- Auspicious day and stars: The construction of the marriage platform and canopies should be initiated on an auspicious day. Certain favorable stars like Ashvani, Punarvasu, Pushyami, Hasta, Chitta, Swati, Anuradha, Sravanam, Dhanishtha, and Shatabhisham are mentioned. The days suitable for construction are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while Panchami and Navami Tithis are recommended.
- Dimensions and location: The wedding platform should have specific dimensions. It can be either 4 cubits long, 4 cubits wide, and one cubit high, arranged in the northeast part of the house, or it can be 5 cubits wide, 7 cubits long, and one cubit high as per the measurement of the bride’s hand.
