Bride : An array of new clothes, a dazzling plate (kanchamu), blouses, a make-up box, towels, elegant glasses, stylish skirts, gleaming silverware, delicate handkerchiefs, cozy blankets, a sturdy bucket, a spacious suitcase, charming cups, exquisite curtains, a box for traditional bottu (forehead adornments), and birua (traditional betel nut containers) are bestowed upon every member of the household.

Additionally, thoughtful gifts are given to the washerwoman, the maid, and others based on their individual needs.

Bride With New Saree

After the bride adorns the new saree, her lap becomes a treasure trove, containing auspicious turmeric, saffron (Kumkum), enchanting glasses, a beautiful Tambulam, and an assortment of five glasses, five soaps, five powder boxes, five combs, five dolls, five saffron jars, five kajal, five sandalwood boxes, five shampoo bottles, and more, arranged in nine different ways.

Her lap is filled with these sacred items, symbolizing blessings and abundance. The turmeric bottle is placed in her hand, while the plate (kancham) is not given during the send-off to the Kapuram, but can be presented at a later time.
