Following a hearty meal, a ceremonial pedestal is placed in the center of the house, where it takes her seat, facing the auspicious east direction. With great care and reverence, a brand-new saree is gently draped around her.

Once she is dressed in the resplendent saree, she settles onto a stool, and in her lap, three delightful servings of chalimidi, vibrant turmeric, fragrant saffron, a shirt cloth, a traditional tambula, an assortment of fresh fruits, coconuts with their fibrous covering, fragrant flowers, and five mounds of auspicious rice are gracefully placed. Such is the manner in which this sacred ceremony unfolds, invoking blessings and auspiciousness for the newlywed bride.
