Koyavallu : An Ancient Tribal Community Found In Dense & Scary Forests
Koyavallu : Koya females, also known as Koya women, are known to participate in festivals and cultural events. However, during regular days, they engage in a practice where they offer various medicinal remedies to people in their communities. They go around the streets announcing the availability of medicines for conditions such as “jannu” (knee pain), “pauvadara” (stomach ache), “royyipita” (ear infection), “gorojanam” (waist infection), and other ailments.
Koyavallu & Payment Mode
These Koya women carry medicinal herbs and remedies with them and provide them to those in need. Housewives often purchase these medicines for ailments like “gachba” (common cold) and “puchka” (headaches) by exchanging rice or other items as a form of payment.
It is important to note that the effectiveness and safety of these traditional remedies may vary, and it is always advisable to consult a qualified healthcare professional for proper medical advice and treatment.
